We have received the following notice from Scotia Gas Network:
We are writing to make you aware of the forthcoming upgrades to our gas network Calverley Road, Tunbridge Wells. Our project involves the essential replacement of old metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure we continue to provide a safe and reliable gas supply to the local area. Our contractor, Medway Utilities will undertake this work on our behalf.
Following close consultation with Kent Sussex County Council our project will start on Monday 11 November and last approximately two weeks.
To ensure everyone’s safety, we need to temporarily close Calverley Road between its junctions with Lansdowne Road and Camden Road. A signed diversion will be in place for motorists thorough Camden Road, Garden Street and Lansdowne Road.
We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, people will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
We appreciation your understanding and patience while we carry out essential gas mains replacement work in the area.
If you have any further questions, please let me know.
