Please could your child read 20-30 minutes every day. There will be 1 comprehension based activity on each week's learning page and the children can complete this in one sitting or tackle several questions per day.
On each weekly learning page there will be 1 extended writing activity for the children to complete. This will include planning, writing and editing time. It would be good to space this out through the course of the week and aim for 20-30 minutes per day on this activity.
Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling:
On each weekly learning page there will be a power point that focuses on one aspect of GPS and there will be activities attached to the power point. The children can work through the power point throughout the week.
There will be 3 tasks to complete each week and the recommended timings for each task is 20-30 minutes. There will be a power point that the children can follow and work through.
There will be links to times tables websites such as times tables rock stars and the recommended timings for practicing are 20 minutes per day.
There will be a weekly task uploaded which can be completed in one session or over the course of the week.
There is also a Science folder on the year 4 page where you will find lots of age-related experiments and investigations you can complete if your children want some extra Science work to keep them busy.
In the PE folder you will find lots of suggested activities as well as links to Cosmic Yoga. We know many of you have been accessing the Joe Wicks page too. We would expect the children to be completing 30 minutes of exercise daily.
There will be links to some websites that you can use to promote mindfulness and well-being in the PSHE folder.
Topic, Art, Music, French, RE, DT:
In the folder entitled Other Learning you will find suggestions for work that can be completed. This is not expected work and as such has no expected timings suggested for it. It is extra work for those children that would like to complete learning within different areas of the curriculum.
