Welcome Text

St. John's CEP School is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England School situated in Tunbridge Wells. Christian values are at the heart of all we do and our Christian ethos is very strong.

We have strong links with our parent Church of St. John's and enjoy the excellent relationship we have with them. We believe that every child is an individual with different needs and that it is our role to ‘Nurture the Potential in everyone’.

We hope that when children leave us they are ready for secondary school and that we have provided them with foundations for life. We try to develop individual talents and personalities, as well as stressing the importance of responsibility and independence. Our children are encouraged to fully participate in all school life has to offer them.

In March 2023 Ofsted judged us to be a good school. I am delighted the inspectors noted that, ‘the school values of honesty, respect, empathy, courage and inclusivity are woven through the fabric of daily life’. Please go to our Ofsted page to see the full report.

TUESDAY 2nd DECEMBER - SCHOOL CLOSED

Unfortunately, there is currently no water at St. John's this morning with our water tank remaining empty. This means we do not have enough water to safely provide welfare facilities, catering or basic drinking water for the school day.

Therefore, St. John's CEP School will be closed today, 2nd December 2025.

Class teachers will provide optional activities for the children which will be emailed to you by 9:30am.

There will be further correspondence via Arbor and the school website later this afternoon with regard to opening tomorrow.

We apologise for the inconvenience.
